Stephen Colbert is about to come face-to-face to one of his former targets.
Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly has been added to the lineup for The Late Show‘s live post-Super Bowl episode, CBS announced Monday.
Kelly’s addition comes on the heels of a busy few months for the popular cable news personality. In addition to her nightly Fox News show, The Kelly File, she has moderated two Republican debates and most famously has been the subject of ire from presidential candidate Donald Trump. Trump refused to take part in last week’s debate on Fox News because of Kelly and her alleged bias against him, according to Trump.
Trump’s decision to sit the debate out followed remarks he made against Kelly last summer, which Fox News chairman and CEO Roger Ailes deemed “disturbing” and “unacceptable.”
Instead, Trump threw his own rally that aired on other networks opposite the debate, which still drew steady ratings despite his absence.
Before succeeding David Letterman in September, Colbert skewered Fox News frequently in his ultra conservative persona on The Colbert Report.
Kelly joins previously announced Late Show guests including Tina Fey, Will Ferrell, Margot Robbie, Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele.
The Late Show will air live on Sunday, Feb. 7 immediately following Super Bowl 50.
