After spending nearly a month in the public eye, Kim Davis has agreed to her first formal interviews. The divisive Kentucky county clerk will appear on the Sept. 22 episode of ABC’s Good Morning America and the Sept. 23 episode of Fox News Channel’s The Kelly File.
ABC News will tease its Kentucky visit between Paula Faris and Davis on Monday’s World News Tonight, while Megyn Kelly will interview Davis from her New York studio. She’ll question Davis on whether or not she not she disobeyed a federal judge’s order regarding altering the marriage license forms of same-sex couples.
Davis achieved instant celebrity earlier in September, several months after the Supreme Court’s ruling in favor of gay marriage prompted her refusal to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples on account of her religious beliefs. She was held in contempt of court in September, spending five days in jail.

The time since has seen her become a lightening rod for Republican presidential candidates — even figuring into one question during CNN’s recent debate.
Faris recently upped her ABC News workload, joining the panel of the ever-evolving The View. And for Kelly, it’s another booking coup in what’s proving to be a banner year. The Kelly File host, who enjoyed a month atop the cable news ratings heap in August after her showing in the first GOP debate, previously got an exclusive with reality stars Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar when allegations about their adult son’s sexual misconduct came to light. That sit-down earned Kelly 3.1 million viewers.
Davis, who has not been shy about giving press conferences, has yet to speak at length with any national news organization.
Sept. 21, 11:50 a.m. Updated with additional details to reflect Davis’ multiple bookings, including her appearance on ABC News.
