Men of a Certain Age’s Mike Royce has lined up his next project.
The co-creator of the TNT dramedy that was canceled in July has been brought on board to pen Little Brother, a comedy project set up at Fox.
From 20th Century Fox Television, Adelstein Productions and Hat Trick, the multicamera comedy revolves around a man who learns he has a half-brother who happens to be an ex-con.
Fox has given a pilot order to the project, initially written by Fintan Ryan. Royce penned the rewrite and will executive produce alongside Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements and Jimmy Mulville; Ryan will be credited as a co-executive producer.
Royce inked a multiyear overall deal with 20th Television earlier this month to develop new projects for the studio and contribute to existing TV properties.
STORY: TNT Cancels ‘Men of a Certain Age’
Royce, and Men co-creator/star Ray Romano, recently ended their bid to revive drama Men of a Certain Age after cable net TNT canceled the series in July after the drama about three best friends grappling with the realities of middle age failed to lure the type of viewership that other series, such as Falling Skies and Rizzoli and Isles, regularly attract.
