First, Sorrentino is headed to TVGN to star in The Sorrentinos, a reality series that follows the Jersey Shore alum as he leans on his family in a bid to turn his fame into a career based on substance — while staying sober. Production on the eight half-hour episodes begins this week in New Jersey. Julie and Seth Jarrett of Jarrett Creative (Boston’s Finest) executive produce.
“We’re excited to take viewers, who met Mike in a very different time and place of his life, and bring them along for this ride with The Sorrentinos,” TVGN entertainment president Brad Schwartz said. “Family is everything, and it’s something people universally come back to no matter who you are and what you do. Fame just makes the stakes higher and more public.” A premiere date has not yet been announced.
Second, Spelling and her husband, Dean McDermott, will pull back the curtains on their marriage for the cameras again. The series hails from Studio Lambert and All3Media. Six hourlong episodes will be produced by Spelling, McDermott, Robert Sizemore of Big Country Entertainment and Greg Goldman, Eli Holzman and Stephen Lambert of Studio Lambert/All3Media America. Lifetime’s Eli Lehrer, Mary Donahue and Paul Hardy will exec produce. The series will premiere April 22, just three weeks after cameras begin rolling.
