Following a lengthy dealmaking process, Fox has ordered its two remaining drama pilots to series, handing out orders to Minority Report and DC Comics take Lucifer.
Minority Report becomes the latest feature film take to land at the broadcast networks this season. It joins CBS’ Rush Hour and Limitless as well as ABC’s Uncle Buck as networks look for known properties in a bid to cut through the clutter.

Modeled after David Bowie, the character has appeared in critical favorite Sandman and its spinoff via DC’s Vertigo imprint after debuting in Superman’s Pal Jimmy Olsen No. 65 in 1962.
Californication‘s Tom Kapinos penned the script for the drama that counts Sleepy Hollow alum Len Wiseman, Jerry Bruckheimer and Ildy Modrovich as executive producers. For his part, Bruckheimer boarded the drama ahead of its pilot order after Fox passed on his DC Comics adaptation Global Frequency.
With the Lucifer order, DC Comics’ TV roster now includes CBS’ newly ordered Supergirl, Fox’s Gotham, The CW’s Arrow and The Flash as well as its super-spinoff in addition to newly renewed iZombie. The order expands DC’s broadcast roster to include every network save for ABC (which has Marvel’s Agent Carter and Agents of SHIELD) and NBC, which canceled Constantine on Friday.
Lucifer, already searching for a co-showrunner, is considered to have nudged out Studio City with the pickup, though the soapy drama based on the life of showrunner Krista Vernoff is in contention for a potential midseason slot.
Lucifer and Minority Report join The Frankenstein Code, The X-Files and medical drama Rosewood as Fox bets big on genre fare with a roster that also includes Gotham, Sleepy Hollow and Ryan Murphy‘s straight-to-series horror-comedy Scream Queens. All told, Fox this season ordered five new dramas, including X-Files — down one from a year ago.
