Cloudy with a chance of meatballs 2 Still - H 2013
The animated TV series Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs: The Series, based on Sony Pictures Animation’s popular film franchise, has been picked up by Turner Broadcasting.
DHX Media on Monday unveiled a deal with Turner Broadcasting for the series to head to the family-focused Boomerang network across the EMEA, Asia Pacific and Latin America. Canadian producer and distributor DHX Media is producing the movie-to-TV adaptation with Sony Pictures Animation out of its Vancouver-based studio, and is handling worldwide distribution, licensing and merchandising.
Sony will handle home entertainment in the U.S. market. The 2009 animated feature comedy Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and its 2013 sequel, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, were produced by Sony Pictures Animation, and distributed by Columbia Pictures.
The films grossed a combined $510 million in theaters.
