A few of them may be “sharp-tongued,” but presidential hopeful Mitt Romney has agreed to join the ladies of ABC’s The View next month.
Co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck read a statement from the Romney campaign on air Wednesday, which said the Republican candidate and his wife would “love to once more join the sharp-tongued chatter in October.”

The statement comes after the emergence of more secret footage Tuesday, in which Romney called appearing on the show risky. Romney was a guest on The View three times previously.
“The View is fine. Although The View is high risk because of the five women on it, only one is conservative, and four are sharp-tongued and not conservative. Whoopi Goldberg in particular,” Romney said. “Although last time I was on the show, she said, ‘You know what? I think I could vote for you.’ And I said, I must have done something really wrong.”
Those comments were picked apart by co-host Sherri Shepherd.
“If you can’t handle four sharp-tongued women, how are you going to handle the country,”Shepherd asked on air.

Barbara Walters said they would love to have Romney on, and that she was sure he could handle their questions.
A portion of the same secret video of Romney, released by Mother Jones Monday, got the candidate in hot water for saying 47 percent of Americans “are dependent upon government” and “believe that they are victims.”
Romney also said in the video he would not host Saturday Night Live because it had the potential of “looking slapstick and not presidential.”
