Showtime is going to explore the Seven Deadly Sins.
Oscar nominee Morgan Spurlock (Super Size Me) will host and executive produce the seven-episode docuseries, the premium cable network announced Wednesday.
Seven Deadly Sins, which will premiere Thursday, June 19, at 11 p.m., will explore each of the seven deadly sins and feature Spurlock’s unique comedic sensibilities.

Spurlock will exec produce via his Warrior Poets production banner (Inside Man, One Direction: This Is Us). Spurlock’s producing partner Jeremy Chilnick will also serve as an exec producer.
“For years, I’ve wanted to do an Alfred Hitchcock Presents-style show comprised completely of nonfiction stories,” Spurlock said. “A series just as dark and twisted as anything fiction could imagine, and now I’m thrilled to have that dream come true with Seven Deadly Sins. With Showtime as a partner, we’re going to make this as depraved as any scripted program as we dive headfirst into Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Envy and Pride. You won’t believe it until you see it … and even then, you may not believe it.”
Documentaries have been a key goal for Showtime topper David Nevins. The cabler recently added an original doc exploring Bob Dylan‘s “Lost Songs” as well as entries featuring Tig Notaro as well as the acquisition of Jay Z‘s Made in America, among others.
