Murphy Brown hit a season low in adults 18-49 in ratings for Thursday, Dec. 13, while Thursday Night Football ended on a strong note.
The CBS comedy posted a 0.7 rating in the 18-49 demo, down a tenth of a point for its low mark of the season. Murphy Brown’s total audience of 5.51 million viewers was its second smallest of the season. Lead-in Mom improved slightly in adults 18-49 to 1.2 but also dipped a little in viewers with 7.67 million. The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon and SWAT were reruns.
Fox’s final Thursday Night Football broadcast of the season went out on a high note, with a 12.4 household rating in metered markets. It’s the second-best overnight rating of the season, trailing only the Nov. 29 game — which set an all-time high for the Thursday franchise — and way up over the 7.4 for the week 15 Thursday game a year ago.
For the season, Fox averaged a 10.3 in metered markets with TNF, a 7 percent improvement over the CBS-NBC Thursday games in 2017.
The CW’s Supernatural (0.4) and Legacies (0.3) each came down a tenth week to week but are in line with their season averages.
Superstore hit a season-low 0.7 for NBC, while an earlier showing of I Feel Bad was steady at 0.4. A rerun of A Saturday Night Live Christmas took up the rest of the evening.
The Great American Baking Show drew a 0.6 for ABC, off a bit from its premiere last week, after a 0.7 for holiday special Disney Prep & Landing.
Fox easily led the night among adults 18-49 with a 3.4 rating, pending updates for its live NFL broadcast. CBS took second with a 0.8, followed by ABC, 0.6; NBC, 0.5; and The CW, 0.4.
