Naomi and Adam Scott’s Gettin‘ Rad banner has sold two comedies.
The duo’s Universal Television-based banner has set Deep S.I.X. at HBO and Donuthead at NBC, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Deep S.I.X. follows a rag-tag Homeland security team that no one believes in as they investigate paranormal threats that no one believes in.
Anthony King (Netflix’s Wet Hot American Summer, Broad City, Playing House, Search Party) will pen the script and exec produce alongside the Scotts.
Donuthead, meanwhile, is a single-camera comedy set in the world of an anxiety-ridden 11-year old boy and his single mother. The potential series plans to feature a unique visual style in a bid to illustrate the boy’s one-of-a-kind imagination.
Irene Mecchi (animated features Brave, The Lion King, NBC’s Peter Pan Live) and Bridget Terry will pen the script and exec produce with the Scotts.
For Gettin‘ Rad, the pair of projects mark the latest sales since the Scotts launched their first-look deal with Universal Television in September 2014. The couple previously sold marijuana comedy Buds to NBC in February with Parks and Recreation alum Joe Mande attached. The company also is behind indie feature The Overnight, which bowed in the summer. They’re in post on their second feature, Other People.
Adam Scott will next be seen in Universal and Legendary’s Krampus and wrapped production on My Blind Brother.
Gettin‘ Rad is repped by WME, Rise Management and Wendy Heller Law.
King is with WME and Mosaic; Mecchi is with WME.
