A Nashville grad is doubling down.
David Clayton Rogers, who played Gunnar’s troubled brother, Jason, on the music drama, has booked parts on not one, but two upcoming ABC comedies, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively.
The Jane by Design alum is set to guest-star in an episode of Back in the Game, which launches Sept. 25. Back in the Game follows Terry Gannon Jr. (Maggie Lawson), a former all-star softball player-turned-single mom who moves in with her estranged father (James Caan).

Rogers will play Jack, who begins dating Terry, though it immediately becomes clear that he isn’t all that he seems.
Keeping in the ABC family, he will jump over to midseason entry Mixology — a high-concept comedy set in a Manhattan bar that takes pace over the course of one evening — in a recurring capacity, slated to appear in two episodes, with the potential for more.
On Mixology, Rogers will portray Jim, Liv’s (Kate Simses) fortysomething fiance, who is unexciting and content, the kind of guy who enjoys scrapbooking and Snuggies. He seems to have proposed mainly to reap the tax benefits of marriage.
Rogers is repped by Innovative Artists and Cohn/Torgan Management. In addition to Nashville and Jane by Design, his other credits include indie Uncanny, sci-fi web series H+ and guest turns on Happy Endings and Grimm.
