Nashville production is “adapting” following star Hayden Panettiere‘s decision to enter rehab for postpartum depression, a source confirms to The Hollywood Reporter.
However, it is too soon to tell if production on the ABC country music drama will have to make any further adjustments.
Panettiere, whose character Juliette Barnes has also been struggling with postpartum depression since late last season, made the announcement through her publicist Tuesday who told THR, the actress “is voluntarily seeking professional help at a treatment center.”
During a September appearance on Live With Kelly and Michael — during which a sit-down between Panettiere’s character and the two hosts was also filmed for the series — the actress spoke openly about her struggles.
“It’s something a lot of women experience. When [you’re told] about postpartum depression you think it’s ‘I feel negative feelings towards my child, I want to injure or hurt my child’ — I’ve never, ever had those feelings,” she said. “But you don’t realize how broad of a spectrum you can really experience that on. It’s something that needs to be talked about. Women need to know that they’re not alone, and that it does heal.”
Panettiere and her fiance, Wladimir Klitschko, welcomed a baby girl last December.
