Finally, we’re getting somewhere. America’s Got Talent executive producer, Simon Cowell, has confirmed he’s in talks with shock radio host, Howard Stern, to replace Piers Morgan as a judge on the NBC talent competition.

“Nothing’s been confirmed yet,” Cowell tells Extra. “But there are definitely conversations taking place. But there’s a lot of logistical issues, so we’ll have to wait and see.”
Could those logistics be money and location? The New York Post’s sources say that Stern is asking for a $20 million salary and a shift in shooting location from Los Angeles to New York where he produces his radio show.
Up until now, both he and Stern had been playing coy about the reported talks, though Cowell told The Hollywood Reporter earlier this month when the reports first surfaced that “if it happens, it’s good news.” And Cecile Frot-Coutaz, CEO of FremantleMedia North American, which produces AGT, would not comment when asked about Stern’s potential recruitment, telling THR, “I can’t really address it at this point.”
As recently as last week, Stern denied he was in negotiations to join the show saying, “No one’s told me anything. I heard that they want me for the job . . . I’m honored that they would consider me.”
Show reps didn’t immediately respond to THR’s request for comment on the negotiations.
