Will Hart/NBCNBC won’t be holding off on new episodes of The Blacklist for very long after all.
The network announced Monday that three new outings of the freshman hit will air in January in its current time slot, starting on Jan. 13. The move means that The Blacklist won’t be off the air for four months, much as previous time slot holder Revolution was last season, and that the network will get an idea how the series performs without a lead-in from The Voice.

The Blacklist has been a huge hit for NBC, outpacing all new series of the 2013-14 season and currently averaging a 5.2 rating among adults 18-49 and 17.1 million viewers after time-shifting. Its broadcast network-record DVR growth bodes well for how it might perform without The Voice.
Filling the month between the holidays and the Winter Olympics, NBC also announced the return of two series for January. American Ninja Warrior sees a U.S. vs. Japan special on Jan. 13, while Hollywood Game Night goes back-to-back on Jan. 20 and 27 — with an additional one-off episode airing Feb. 3 before the Sports Illustrated special for the 50th anniversary of the Swimsuit Edition.
