NBC has firmed up plans for its fall launches, slating a slew of premieres for roughly a month after the Summer Olympics in Rio wrap.
Keeping in line with the official TV season calendar, The Voice kicks things off on Monday, Sept. 19. The season premiere will lead into a back-to-back sampling of Mike Schur comedy The Good Place.
Sampling continues the following night, when buzzy hourlong This Is Us airs after another two-hour episode of The Voice.
Blindspot technically kicks off the returning of original programming, testing out its new Wednesday waters with a 10 p.m. premiere on Sept. 14, before segueing to its new 8 p.m. slot the following week. That night (Sept. 21) sees it joined by Law & Order: SVU and Chicago P.D.
Thursday, Sept. 22, brings Superstore at 8 p.m, followed by Good Place‘s time slot premiere at 8:30 p.m. Chicago Med and The Blacklist follow.
Friday, Sept. 23, sees the return of Caught on Camera With Nick Cannon and Dateline NBC, while Timeless doesn’t make its Monday bow until Oct. 3. On Oct. 11, once The Voice is cut down to an hour, This Is Us shifts to its 9 p.m. time slot before the return of Chicago Fire.
As previously announced, the NFL season kicks off with a special Thursday edition of Sunday Night Football on Sept. 8. The Denver Broncos-Carolina Panthers match-up will be quickly followed the regular Sunday Night Football showing three days later when the Arizona Cardinals play the New England Patriots on Sept. 11.
NBC is the first of the broadcast networks to announce its fall premiere dates, though all have solidified schedules — with only one tweak to date.
