The multicamera comedy from executive producer Bill Lawrence has been renewed for a second season, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. The renewal is for 10 episodes, down three from season one.

Since its debut in late May, the comedy from Adam Sztykiel stars Chris D’Elia (Whitney) leading a team of improv comedians. The Warner Bros. Television entry has averaged 2.8 million viewers on Thursdays.
The comedy about a group of friends dubbed the “undateables,” based on the book by Ellen Rakieten and Anne Coyle, was one of four scripted series that debuted on the network this summer. Drama Night Shift, from Sony Pictures Television, was previously renewed for a second season, and the word is still out on Crossbones, Working the Engels, Canadian acquisition Taxi Brooklyn and import Welcome to Sweden. On the reality side, NBC previously renewed the bulk of its summer lineup, including American Ninja Warrior, America’s Got Talent and Last Comic Standing.

For Lawrence, the Undateable renewal gives the prolific producer at least three shows on the air, with the NBC comedy joining the final season of Cougar Town and the second run of Ground Floor, both on TBS. Fox canceled rookie comedy Surviving Jack after one season earlier this year.
