Netflix has unveiled a new slate for Spain, including three dramas, a couple of original features, and some non-scripted formats, among them a new docu-reality show focused on Instagram star Georgina Rodríguez.
Among the new shows are Intimidad, a drama series from Verónica Fernández and Laura Sarmiento which stars Itziar Ituno, Patricia López Arnaiz, Verónica Echegui, Ana Wagener, and Emma Suárez and follows four women caught up in a sex scandal with deep political implications; Baruca from Victor Sierra and Xosé Morais, an action drama set in prison under siege; and Si lo hubiera sabido (If Only), a drama created by the Turkish screenwriter Ece Yörenc, and adapted by Irma Correa, which stars Megan Montaner as Emma, a 30-year old woman unhappy with her 10-year relationship who gets another shot at life when she is sent back in time into the body of herself as a 20-year-old.
Netflix has also commissioned Amor con fianza (Guaranteed Love), a dating reality show hosted by Mónica Naranjo and produced by Fremantle, and Georgina, a docu-reality format focused on Instagram influencer, and girlfriend to soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, Georgina Rodríguez.
On the film side, Netflix Spain has started production on A través de mi ventana, an adaptation of the best-seller of the same name by Ariana Godoy, as well as the romantic comedy Eres Tu, which Zeta Studios will produce.
Netflix also confirmed the launch date for the second and final season of El Vecino (The Neighbour), which will bow May 21 worldwide.
