Netflix’s limited series True Story is rounding out its cast.
The new drama starring Kevin Hart and Wesley Snipes is adding eight new actors. Tawny Newsome, Will Catlett, Paul Adelstein, Ash Santos, John Ales, Chris Diamantopoulous, Lauren London and Billy Zane are joining the limited series.
True Story will follow the story of a comedian named Kid (Hart) as he reconnects with his wayward older brother Carlton (Snipes) during a tour stop in Philadelphia. The show will examine the fall-out of a lost evening the two share that threatens to destroy Kid’s career.
The limited series is being written by Narcos showrunner Eric Newman. Newman and Hart will executive produce, alongside Charles Murray, who will serve as showunner, and Stephen Williams, who will direct the first four episodes. Hanelle Culpepper will direct the final four episodes.

Catlett (Charm City Kings, Black Lightning) will portray Herschel, a man of few words and jack-of-all-trades bodyguard who is a constant presence in Kid’s life. Herschel has a quiet sense of humor and takes the chaos surrounding Kid in stride, but struggles to keep Kid safe once he and his brother Carlton grow closer. Catlett is repped by A3 Artists Agency, Bold Talent Agency, KD Talent and Group 1 Law.
Adelstein (Imposters, Chance, Mrs. Maisel) will play Todd, Kid’s longtime manager. Todd’s years navigating the industry with Kid has made them close like brothers. He struggles to find the balance between friend and manager as Kid faces ongoing challenges with his brother, Carlton.
Santos (American Horror Story: Apocalypse, Night Teeth) will portray Daphne, an outgoing young woman who joins Carlton and Kid at a VIP afterparty that continues to an eventful night.
Ales (Euphoria, Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll) will play Nikos. Bringing a whole new definition to a close knit family, Nikos will stop at nothing to make sure his brothers Savvas and Ari are safe.
Diamantopoulos (Silicon Valley, Red Notice) will portray Savvas. Part of the same close knit family that knows no limit, Savvas values the safety and success of his brothers Nikos and Ari over anything.
London (The Game, Single Ladies) will play Monyca. Faced with new challenges of co-parenting a child with Kid, Monyca still enjoys a close bond with her ex. Meanwhile, Zane (Titanic, Guilt, Waltzing with Brando) will portray Ari. Coldly unfazed by the nature of his job, Ari helps make problems go away.
