Now that being a veep nominee isn’t an option, it’s back to TV for Newt Gingrich.
The former Speaker of the House will pick up right where he left off as a political commentator on Fox News Channel, a network rep confirmed Thursday.
Gingrich had left his post at Fox in mid-July to avoid a conflict of interest while Republican nominee Donald Trump was reported to be considering him for his running mate. Trump ended up going with Gov. Mike Pence (R-Ind.) instead.
The Hill first reported that Gingrich would be rejoining the network and will start on Monday.
Gingrich, of course, is a veteran TV contributor. In addition to his work at Fox, he was recently a host on CNN’s Crossfire.
