Showtime’s Nurse Jackie wrapped its third season on Monday night with the walls closing in on Edie Falco‘s titular character.
[Spoilers ahead if you haven’t watched Monday’s episode.]
Jackie has, under orders from human resources, peed in a cup for mandatory drug testing and learns that Kevin (Dominic Fumusa) had an affair. Has the drug-addicted nurse finally hit rock bottom?
In a video interview, Falco debates just that along with creators Linda Wallem and Liz Brixius as well as executive producer Richie Jackson.
Jackie’s behavior “makes complete irrational sense,” Falco says.
Adds Wallem: “In my mind, there is no rock bottom for Jackie. I think that’s what we’re trying to do on the show — explore another area about addiction. This isn’t a show about addiction; it’s about a woman’s journey.”
Watch the video below to find out what Jackie’s rock bottom would be.
