‘Nurse Jackie’ Renewed for Season 6 at Showtime

Showtime is keeping the doors to All Saints open for another season.

The premium cable network has renewed Nurse Jackie for a sixth season, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

The Edie Falco starrer is averaging 3.1 million viewers per week across multiple platforms — up 10 percent year over year.

This season marked the first under new showrunner Clyde Phillips (Dexter) — who replaced co-creators Linda Wallem and Liz Brixius. He’ll return alongside EPs Caryn Mandabach, Richie Jackson and Tom Straw for the newly announced sixth season.

“Nurse Jackie is an essential part of the Showtime brand, and we are thrilled with the series’ growth in its fifth season,” Showtime Entertainment president David Nevins said. “Under the new leadership of Clyde Phillips, and with an amazing cast led by Edie Falco, this show is as sharp and compelling and entertaining as ever. I’m excited to get to see the next chapter in Jackie’s life.”

Nurse Jackie — which earned Falco three Emmy noms and one win for her title role as the drug-addicted (and now in recovery) Jackie Payton — leads a roster of comedies at Showtime including Californication, Web Therapy and House of Lies. The Lionsgate TV co-production series is one of the few remaining entries from former network topper Bob Greenblatt. This season, Showtime bid farewell to comedies Weeds and The Big C, the latter of which ended its run as an hourlong miniseres.

The season five finale airs June 16.
