South Park is never one to shy away from political or pop culture commentary. So it should be expected that an episode would center around the Occupy Wall Street protests, which have been seeing increased attention from the media and the public.

But of course, the Comedy Central animated series puts a twist on the tale by making it about Cartman and his lack of physical fitness. On Wednesday, Nov. 2, episode titles “1%.” Cartman will fail his Physical Fitness exam, and the 99 percent of fourth grade kids who passed the test will not be happy with Cartman for making them endure extra work out time.

“I know how this works. You’re the 99 percent ganging up on the one percent,” Cartman says to his South Park Elementary classmates.
The overweight fourth grader then throws himself a literal pity party.

The Occupy Wall Street protests have been going on in New York since mid-September. The protests use the slogan, “We are the 99%”, referring to the difference in wealth in the U.S. between the wealthiest 1 percent and the rest of the population.
