Once Upon a Time has found Glinda.
Actress Sunny Mabrey has landed the iconic role of Glinda, the Good Witch of the South, on ABC’s fairy tale drama, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
Additional details were not provided.
The actress, who recurred on TNT’s Memphis Beat and Lifetime’s The Client List, also appears in ABC’s spring drama Mind Games starring Christian Slater and Steve Zahn. Mabrey also co-starred in features xXx: State of the Union and Snakes on a Plane.
TVLine first reported the casting.
Season three has seen a slew of recurring players appear on the small screen as iconic fairy-tale characters, including Robbie Kay (Peter Pan), Jamie Chung (Mulan), Sean Maguire (Robin Hood), Rose McIver (Tinker Bell), Julian Morris (Prince Phillip), Sarah Bolger (Aurora) and Joanna Garcia (Ariel). Alexandra Metz will make her debut as Rapunzel in episode 14.
With the Neverland arc over on Once Upon a Time, executive producer Adam Horowitz told THR in January that when the Wicked Witch of the West, played by Lost‘s Rebecca Mader, is introduced in the second half, she “is a completely different kind of villain and the kind of character were excited to unfurl on the audience.”
Mabrey is repped by Kohner Agency and Evolution Entertainment.
Once Upon a Time returns March 9 on ABC.
