Orange Is the New Black star Samira Wiley has tied the knot with the show’s writer Lauren Morelli. According to Martha Stewart Weddings, the couple wed on Saturday in Palm Springs in an outdoor ceremony officiated by Wiley’s parents.
The couple both donned Christian Siriano during the confetti-themed celebration (the two love Funfetti cake) planned by Beth Helmstetter Events. Martha Stewart Weddings reports that Wiley and Morelli wanted their nuptials to be “fun, celebratory and nontraditional.”
The couple, who also got engaged in Palm Springs last year, walked down the aisle to Montell Jordan’s “This Is How We Do It” and later entered their reception to Justin Bieber’s “Baby.” The reception was decorated with colorful patterns including floral-and-citrus centerpieces, graphic black-and-white plates and mismatched glassware.

This is the first marriage for Wiley, 29, and the second for Morelli. Morelli was previously married to producer Steve Basilone (The Goldbergs, The Michael J. Fox Show) before they divorced in 2014.
Wiley later posted a picture post-wedding with the caption “#wifed.”
Morelli penned an essay on Identities.Mic in which she wrote that she realized she was gay in fall 2012 while on the set of Orange Is the New Black. She said that writing love scenes for the show helped her find her own identity. “In Piper and Alex, I’d found a mouthpiece for my own desires and a glimmer of what my future could look like,” she wrote.
Congrats to the happy couple!
