The Paley Center for Media has named Maureen Reidy president and CEO, replacing Pat Mitchell.
The board of trustees named Reidy, previously the chief marketing officer and COO, to the post Tuesday. The executive shuffle is effective immediately.
Mitchell, who has been president and CEO since 2006, will assume her new role as executive vice chairman.
“There is no better person to lead the Paley Center than Maureen Reidy, and after an extensive nationwide search we were so pleased to select our new president and CEO from within the Paley Center family,” said Frank A. Bennack, Jr., executive vice chairman of Hearst Corporation and chairman of the Paley Center Board. “Maureen has a proven track record as a strong, respected leader and provides a business-minded approach that will build upon the Paley Center’s great success and take us to even greater heights.”
Added Mitchell: “Having worked with Maureen for the past year, I know that she is absolutely the right leader at the right time for the Paley Center.”
Reidy joined the Paley Center in 2013 and has more than 20 years experience, recently as CEO of strategic marketing agency The Argus Group. She was previously COO of IMG Fashion, where she was selected by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg to serve as CEO of NYC Big Events and as the city’s chief marketing officer. Reidy also worked for Donald Trump, who named her president of the Miss Universe Organization.
The Paley Center holds the annual television festival PaleyFest and focuses on the impact television, radio and emerging platforms have on the the professional community and the public.
