Everybody Loves Raymond star Ray Romano is heading for a different kind of family drama.
The former Men of a Certain Age star has booked a multiple-episode arc on the upcoming fourth season of NBC’s Parenthood, the network said Tuesday.
Romano will play a photographer and former photojournalist who befriends Sarah (Lauren Graham) and complicates her relationship with Mark (Jason Ritter). He’ll first appear in Jason Katims drama’s Season 4 premiere Sept. 11.
The ensemble bubble series, which revolves around the Braverman family, was renewed last month for a 15-episode fourth season.

Romano, repped by ICM Partners, the Conversation Co. and Del Shaw, most recently starred on TNT’s short-lived Men of a Certain Age. His recent credits include a stint opposite his former Raymond co-star Patricia Heaton on ABC’s The Middle. On the big screen, he’s among the voice cast in the Ice Age features, whose fourth installment opens July 13.
