We do love when TV spats go public (see Adam Levine vs. American Idol or Kat Von D vs. TLC), but this one may hit viewers where they live (and eat). Extreme eater, Anthony Bourdain, came out swinging at southern chef-lebrity, Paula Deen, first.
“The worst, most dangerous person to America is clearly Paula Deen,” the Travel Channel’s No Reservations star tells TV Guide. “She revels in unholy connections with evil corporations and she’s proud of the fact that her food is f—ing bad for you.”
“If I were on at seven at night and loved by millions of people at every age,” he continues. “I would think twice before telling an already obese nation that it’s OK to eat food that is killing us. Plus, her food sucks.”

Bourdain can’t mean Deen’s bacon, doughnut, and egg burger, right? That’s just a party in our mouth and a lifetime on our behind.
The southern cook didn’t take too kindly to Bourdain’s criticism, telling the New York Post, “Anthony Bourdain needs to get a life.”
Deen says he can attack her food, but not her character. “It’s not all about the cooking,” she points out. “But the fact that I can contribute by using my influence to help people all over the country. In the last two years, my partners and I have fed more than 10 million hungry people by bringing meat to food banks.”
The home cooking maven then blasted him for his elitist sensibilities. “You know, not everybody can afford to pay $58 for prime rib or $650 for a bottle of wine,” she says. “My friends and I cook for regular families who worry about feeding their kids and paying the bills . . . It wasn’t that long ago that I was struggling to feed my family, too.”
This may be a conflict that can only be solved in one arena, in the kitchen stadium on Food Network’s Iron Chef America.
