TBS is handing out renewals for a few of its key comedies.
The cable network has ordered new seasons of People of Earth, Wrecked and The Guest Book. The trio of summer shows join the network’s previously announced renewals, which include Angie Tribeca and The Detour.
People of Earth, which has been renewed for a third season, follows a group of alien abductees who live in the small town of Beacon, New York. Among the castmembers are Nasim Pedrad, Michael Cassidy, Wyatt Cenac, Ana Gasteyer and Oscar Nunez.
Renewed for a second season, The Guest Book is an anthology-style comedy from Greg Garcia (My Name Is Earl). Season one starred Garret Dillahunt, Carly Jibson, Kellie Martin and Charlie Robinson, among others, as residents of a small mountain town who interact with visitors renting vacation homes.
Survival comedy Wrecked has been given a third season. Castmembers include Asif Ali, Zach Cregger, Rhys Darby, Brooke Dillman, Will Greenberg, Jessica Lowe, Ally Maki and Brian Sacca. The series is executive produced by Justin Shipley, Jordan Shipley and Jesse Hara.
“Since rebranding this network just two years ago, we have renewed 100 percent of our scripted originals, which have all generated impressive audience growth in an environment that’s seeing mostly declines,” Brett Weitz, executive vp original programming for TBS said Wednesday in a statement. “Our shows are connecting with fans, and we’re going to keep making these genuinely funny comedies with the best creators in this business.”
