Pharrell Williams is heading to Style Network’s Styled to Rock.
The Grammy Award winner and fashion designer, who appeared on NBC’s The Voice as a mentor, will join the fashion competition series executive produced by Rihanna, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Styled to Rock will premiere its 10-episode run later this year with Williams serving as one of the mentors. The new series will pit 12 up-and-coming designers against each other to crown the next trendsetter with the unique opportunity to style A-list talent in entertainment.
“We are delighted to have Pharrell, who is a driving force in both the music industry and fashion world, serve as a mentor on Styled to Rock,” said Salaam Coleman Smith, president Style Media. “Pharrell’s unique aesthetic and commitment to individuality combined with Rihanna’s vision for this series will enable our aspiring designers to hone their craft and learn from the very people who set the trends.”
Williams, winner of three Grammys, is the lead vocalist/guitarist for N.E.R.D. and half of the production duo The Neptunes. He is featured on Daft Punk’s anticipated album, Random Access Memories, and its single “Get Lucky.” He has several clothing lines, including Billionaire Boys Club, Billionaire Girls Club, Bee Line and ICECREAM, and has designed jewelry and accessories for Louis Vuitton and furniture and products with Moncler and Takashi Murakami. Williams also recently started the company, i am OTHER.
Styled to Rock is executive produced by Robyn Rihanna Fenty and is produced by Shed Media U.S., Overbrook Entertainment and Marcy Media Films. Nick Emmerson, Pam Healey and Dan Peirson of Shed Media U.S. and James Lassiter of Overbook Entertainment also serve as executive producers. Sarah Weidman and Merah Chung executive produce the series for Style.
