Pierce Brosnan will soon be returning to the small screen for AMC’s new series The Son.
Appearing as the lead in the Western drama from Philipp Meyer and Kevin Murphy, the former James Bond hit the black carpet at the show’s premiere in Los Angeles on Monday night.
“The book was magnificent. I read it when it came out in 2013, and it was heralded in such a glorious fashion,” he told The Hollywood Reporter about why he chose the project.
“I came in at the eleventh hour to this series,” Brosnan added. “AMC does impeccable work. All of the ingredients of the players were of a high pedigree. And I love [my] character, Eli.”
And, according to Meyer, this won’t be the last of Brosnan coming back to television. “Pierce and I now are good friends,” said Meyer. “We’re going to make projects together in the future. We talk about it all the time. There is something [coming] that I can’t talk about.”
Though that project likely doesn’t have anything to do with Brosnan’s iconic role as Bond. “Daniel’s done a good job. It’s his if he wants to do it again,” the actor said about Daniel Craig and where the film franchise is heading.
Brosnan was joined at the premiere by series co-stars Jess Weixler, Zahn McClarnon, Tatanka Means and Electra Avellan as well as AMC chief Charlie Collier.
Also in attendance, which surprised many in the crowd, was Jessica Chastain. The actress made the trek to Hollywood to support her friend Weixler.
The screening was followed by an after party at Beauty and Essex.
