Friends fans who’ve always wanted to sip a cup of coffee at Central Perk can soon do so — for a month in New York this fall.
A pop-up replica of the spot where Monica, Chandler, Rachel, Ross, Joey and Phoebe hung out for 10 seasons on NBC is opening in SoHo (199 Lafayette St., at the corner of Broome Street) Sept. 17-Oct. 18.
The shop, set up to mark the 20th anniversary of the sitcom, will serve free cups of Eight O’Clock Coffee, including the brand’s limited-edition Central Perk Roast, specially created for the occasion.
The pop-up Central Perk will also feature props from the show and the iconic orange couch, and Gunther (James Michael Tyler) is even set to make a few special appearances. There will also be live musical performances (perhaps the next “Smelly Cat”?) and opportunities to win and buy Friends merchandise.
