Set in the Pacific Northwest, Portlandia stars Saturday Night Live’s Armisen and Sleater-Kinney’s Carrie Brownstein as a variety of eccentric characters including Bryce Shivers and Lisa Everesman, an arty and obsessive couple who put birds on things.
Guest stars in the comedy’s six-episode freshman season included Selma Blair, Heather Graham, Jason Sudeikis and singer Sarah McLachlan. Kyle MacLachlan (Desperate Housewives) recurred and will return as Portlandia’s screwball mayor, with 24’s Mary Lynn Rajskub also guest starring.
Executive produced by Saturday Night Live’s Lorne Michaels, Season 2 will kick off its first of 10 new episodes on Monday, Jan. 9 at 10 p.m. on IFC.
