Fresh off the season three renewal for her hit drama Power, Courtney Kemp Agboh has signed an overall deal with Starz.
Under the pact, she will continue to serve as executive producer and showrunner of the series. The second season premiered Saturday to record ratings — drawing 3.62 million viewers with encores — and now ranks as the most-watched episode (pre-DVR) for an original series in network history. Starz picked up a third season on Wednesday.
“Courtney is a highly regarded showrunner whose creative vision brings viewers into the two worlds of Power. We are extremely pleased to continue our relationship with Courtney in the coming years,” said Starz managing director Carmi Zlotnik.
Added Kemp Agboh: “I am excited and proud to continue my work with Starz. They have been great creative partners in the development and growth of Power, and I hope to nurture our relationship through the life of this series and beyond.”
Kemp Agboh executive produces the series with Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Mark Canton, Randall Emmett and Gary Lennon.
Her other credits include The Good Wife, Eli Stone and The Bernic Mac Show. She is repped by CAA and Felker, Toczek.
