The doctor is checking back in on Pretty Little Liars.
Julian Morris is set to return as Dr. Wren Kingston in the back half of season seven, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively.
Rumors have been circulating about Morris’ return — and creator I. Marlene King confirmed Wren’s upcoming appearance back in June — but details of how big his arc will be are still a mystery.
Many fans have theorized that Wren is secretly Uber “A,” which was hinted at in his last appearance in season four, when he colored in a photo of a woman in a red coat. He was previously engaged to Spencer’s (Troian Bellisario) sister, Melissa (Torrey DeVitto), but in a season six flashback, Melissa told Hanna (Ashley Benson) that they had broken up for good.
Morris’ return comes as Pretty Little Liars’ future remains in question. King previously told THR that season seven would serve as the “beginning of the end” for the long-running Freeform drama.
Morris’ role on the series dates back to the pilot episode. However, he was previously unavailable for PLL due to his work on Amazon’s Hand of God, which returns for season two in 2017. Morris’ other upcoming projects include portraying famed Washington Post journalist Bob Woodward in Peter Landesman’s “Deep Throat” biopic Felt, co-starring Liam Neeson and Diane Lane. His other credits include Once Upon a Time and New Girl.
Morris is repped by Brillstein Entertainment Partners, United Agents and Gersh.
Pretty Little Liars airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Freeform.
