Fox’s upcoming Prison Break event series has added its first new face to the mix.
Royal Pains star Mark Feuerstein has signed on for a recurring role in the revival, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
He will play Scott Ness, the husband of Dr. Sara Tancredi, the character originally played by Sarah Wayne Callies. However, the Colony star has not yet signed on to reprise her role. Feuerstein joins returning stars Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell.

Fox first expressed interest in bringing back the prison drama in January 2015, before handing out an official nine-episode order January at press tour. The network has been at the forefront of the revival trend, having brought back 24 for a limited series two years ago — and now rebooting the franchise yet again with a new cast of characters — as well as The X-Files, which wraps it’s six-episode run Monday.
Creator Paul T. Scheuring will be back, as will original producers Neal Moritz, Marty Adelstein and Dawn Olmstead, and Scheuring will write and showrun.
In addition to his starring role on the long-running USA medical series Royal Pains, which heads into season eight this year, Feuerstein also recurred on the final season of Nurse Jackie.
In addition to Miller and Purcell, Fox Television Group chairman and CEO Dana Walden expressed optimism that more returning favorites like Callies will return. She said at winter press tour, “I’m hoping that we’ll see many of the great characters … return throughout the season.”
There is no premiere date for the Prison Break event series.
