The Project RunwayAll Stars designers have a new mentor.
Marie Claire senior fashion editor Zanna Roberts Rassi is taking over for Joanna Coles. Marie Claire has been a longtime partner with the fashion design competition series (the winner receives a fashion spread in the magazine and a yearlong position as contributing editor), but Coles, the magazine’s former editor, last year made the jump to Cosmopolitan.
Roberts Rassi is a familiar face to Project Runway viewers; she has hosted preview specials and aftershows for the series and made other appearances over the years.
Lifetime on Thursday also announced the designers and guest judges for the upcoming third season of All Stars, which is set to premiere Oct. 24. The 11 returning designers — a list that includes three past winners — are:
— Jeffrey Sebelia (Los Angeles), season three winner
— Mychael Knight (Atlanta), season three, fourth place
— Korto Momolu (Little Rock, Ark.), season five, runner-up
— Irina Shabayeva (New York), season six winner
— Seth Aaron Henderson (Vancouver, Wash.), season seven winner
— Ari South (Honolulu), season eight, third place
— Viktor Luna (New York), season nine, third place
— Melissa Fleis (San Francisco), season 10, third place
— Christopher Palu (Massapequa, N.Y.), season 10, fourth place
— Elena Slivnyak (San Francisco), season 10, sixth place
— Daniel Esquivel (Austin, Texas), season 11, fourth place
Among the guest judges will be Abigail Breslin, Kristin Chenoweth, Gabourey Sidibe, Elisabeth Moss, Nick Cannon, Debbie Harry, Bar Refaeli, Gayle King, Lisa Robertson, Nate Berkus and Michael Urie. Project Runway judges Nina Garcia and Zac Posen also will serve as guest judges along with past Runway winners Christian Siriano (season four) and Anya Ayoung-Chee (season nine), as well as All Stars season one and two winners Mondo Guerra (who recaps the series for The Hollywood Reporter) and Anthony Ryan Auld.
In addition, Marge Simpson will make a special guest appearance this season.
As THR exclusively reported in June, Alyssa Milano joined the show as host and serves as a judge alongside returnees Isaac Mizrahi and Georgina Chapman.
The third season of All Stars, again taking place in New York, premieres at 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24.
Project Runway All Stars is produced by The Weinstein Co. and Bunim/Murray Productions.
