ABC’s Quantico is enlisting a new face for season two.
Looking star Russell Tovey has joined the cast of the FBI thriller’s second season, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Tovey will take on the series regular role of Harry Doyle. The character is described as a mischievous gadabout. Part Thomas Crown, part grown-up Artful Dodger, the mysterious Harry can be anything to anybody — and is just as likely to seduce your husband as he is to pick his pocket when it’s over.
“Ever since being introduced to him in The History Boys 10 years ago, I’ve hoped to work with Russell. It’s been an honor for the writers and myself to be able to create this role specifically for him,” showrunner Josh Safran tells THR.
For Tovey, the role marks his latest TV role following HBO’s critical darling comedy Looking. The series wraps its run July 23 with a TV movie closing out its two-season run on HBO.
Repped by WME and Independent Talent Group, his credits include The Job Lot, Banished, Him & Her and features The Pass, The Lady in the Van and Muppets Most Wanted.
Quantico returns to Sundays at 10 p.m. in the fall. A specific date has yet to be announced.
