While Sonja Morgan’s bankruptcy filing went public last November, the reality star and her fans watched it all go down again on Thursday’s The Real Housewives of New York.
“Well this is a tough episode for me as it brings back all the emotion I went through when I filed my Chapter 11,” Morgan writes in her Bravotv.com blog.
She goes on to describe how her attorneys advised her to file bankruptcy as a result of a $7 million judgment against her by a movie producer for a film that was never made. Her attorneys said it would protect her assets. She now says she received bad advice from people she trusted and she’s working hard to rebuild her finances.
Then, to add insult to injury, Morgan felt as if cast mate Jill Zarin really crossed the line. At a focus group meeting for Zarin’s shapewear line, she brought up Morgan’s bankruptcy which had just gone public at the time.
“I was shocked the subject of my financial affairs and business dealings were brought up at the focus group for Jill’s shapewear,” Morgan writes, then later adds, “It was not the appropriate place or time. I was once again blindsided by people who are considered friends.”
