David Edward Rainey, better known as “Puck” from MTV’s Real World, is behind bars at the Los Angeles County Men’s Central Jail on domestic violence charges.
The 42-year-old, who worked as a bike messenger on the third season of the reality series, was booked on June 19 of suspicion of felony corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant, reports the Los Angeles Times.
Rainey is due in court on July 6 and is being held until he comes up with $30,000 bail. The Los Angeles city attorney is prosecuting him for misdemeanor spousal battery.
Rainey has a history of troubles with the law. He pleaded no contest to battery charges involving his girlfriend in 2009, pleaded no contest to felony possession of ammunition the same year, and was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving in 2010 after driving his car off an embankment in San Diego.
Puck was actually evicted from The Real World San Francisco house for his confrontations with fellow cast members, most notably, Pedro Zamora, the program’s first openly gay, HIV-positive housemate.
