Rep Sheet Roundup: ICM Partners Signs ‘The Missing’ Newcomer

They found her

Abigail Hardingham, star of the second season of BBC’s and Starz’s anthology drama The Missing, has signed with ICM Partners. She won the 2015 British Independent Film Award for most promising newcomer for the horror comedy Nina Forever (which premiered at SXSW), in a field that included Bel Powley, Agyness Deyn, Milo Parker and Mia Goth. Hardingham will also be seen this summer in TNT’s young Shakespeare drama Will. She continues to be represented by the U.K.’s Bloomfields Welch and Primary Wave.

Buddies sticking together

Stranger Things’ Gaten Matarazzo, who plays the curly-haired Dustin, and Noah Schnapp, who plays the missing Will Byers, have each signed with law firm McKuin Frankel.

Killer signing

Crime writer Patricia Cornwell has signed with UTA for media rights only. Most of her 29 New York Times best-sellers, which have been translated into 36 languages and have sold more than 100 million copies in more than 120 countries, follow the adventures of medical examiner Kay Scarpetta. Oscar-nominated Carol screenwriter Phyllis Nagy (also a UTA client) is penning Fox 2000’s long-awaited Scarpetta franchise. Cornwell’s latest book, Ripper: The Secret Life of Walter Sickert, is a comprehensive examination of serial killer Jack the Ripper and is being developed by Amazon as a series. Cornwell continues to be represented by ICM Partners for publishing and by Franklin Weinrib.

Ladies in the limelight

Author, host and transgender rights activist Janet Mock has signed with publicity firm PMK*BNC. On June 13, Mock will release her latest book, Surpassing Certainty: What My Twenties Taught Me.

PMK*BNC also has signed model Kate Upton, who recently appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issue for the third time. As an actress, her most prominent role to date has been starring opposite Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann in 2014’s The Other Woman.

Painting a narrative

Relative newcomer Isabella Amara, who played Woody Harrelson’s long-lost daughter in Wilson, has signed with Portrait PR. In THR’s review of the Sundance drama, David Rooney wrote that the young actress “is appealing in the part, bringing layers of guarded sensitivity to a character that evolves nicely.” Amara, who played a teenage version of Melissa McCarthy’s character in The Boss, will be seen in Spider-Man: Homecoming this summer.

Portrait PR also has signed actor Froy Gutierrez, whose credits include Netflix’s One Day at a Time reboot, MTV’s Teen Wolf and the upcoming indie family film Cowgirl’s Story.
