ABC’s Revenge finally revealed the truth of what (and whom) went down on the beach in its series pilot on Wednesday’s episode. Was it who you expected?
Warning: Spoilers if you haven’t watched Wednesday’s “Chaos” episode.

After several twists and a lot of moving parts, we now know that Daniel Grayson (Joshua Bowman) isn’t the victim of the gunshots at the beach. And that in fact Tyler (Ashton Holmes) finally falls after going off the rails in a surprise return to the Hamptons in his bid for revenge against Emily (Emily VanCamp).
“It was the right time,” the episode’s director, Sanford Bookstaver, tells The Hollywood Reporter about Tyler’s return. “He was at a peak with his character and it was the right time to bring him back.”
And while Tyler drove a lot of very juicy story lines this season, he may have done his job too well. “He’s a very talented actor,” Bowman says. “And I think while a lot of people hate his character, he has done a superb job of making them feel that. So I’m going to miss him.”

Although the British actor hopes that you’re happy Daniel is sticking around. “I read now and then how people are receiving characters and our show,” he says. “I hope most people, or more than half, will appreciate that Daniel isn’t dead.”
Here are a few more things to expect after Wednesday’s episode.
Can Tyler possibly return? As ABC’s Revenge goes, there’s always a possibility that someone could return. But as of now, Bookstaver says that Tyler’s death is confirmed.
When will we find out Amanda’s (Margarita Levieva) fate and the source of Daniel’s injuries? “In the next episode, more will be revealed of the details of that night,” Bookstaver says. “We didn’t want to give up everything in the episode, ‘Chaos.’ And we do have the aftermath, putting the pieces together, for a few episodes to follow.”
Victoria signed the divorce papers. That can’t be it? “It is not done and Victoria always has a plan,” says the director. “So the gears are spinning in Victoria’s head.”

Will Jack still leave the Hamptons? It sounds like a no. “He’s going to have to start committing himself to the people that he loves,” Nick Wechsler tells THR about his character’s next move. “You know, he’s dragging that body at the beach to protect Amanda. And if he leaves town, he’s abandoning his brother again. So he has to make sure he’s around protecting everyone.”
How will Daniel react to what Tyler told him about Emily on the beach? “It’s a game-changer,” Bowman says. “He’s going to ask questions. You’ll see Daniel change a little bit, he’ll get a little darker, and a little more with his feet on the ground. He’s definitely not an idiot, that’s for sure.”
“And the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree when you’re a Grayson,” he adds. “So expect him to get nastier.”
Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait two weeks to see the fallout as Revenge returns with its next new episode on Wednesday, Feb. 29. For now, sound off on the events of “Chaos” in the comments section below.
