The NFL Network’s Rich Eisen was on the air Sunday when news broke that his longtime friend and former ESPN colleague Stuart Scott had died. Eisen delivered a heartfelt tribute to Scott when he reported the news of his SportsCenter co-host’s death, but he also honored Scott later that day.
The former SportsCenter anchor called the entire highlight package of the AFC wildcard game between the Indianapolis Colts and the Cincinnati Bengals using many of Scott’s signature phrases like “Boo-Yah!” and “Can I get a witness from the congregation?!” with the same enthusiasm that Scott was known for.

Indianapolis’ players, who emerged as the victors at day’s end, were the recipients of most of the catchphrases, with running back Daniel Herron being called “straight butter” (a reference to Scott’s ever-popular “Just call him butter, ’cause he’s on a roll”) and Andrew Luck being described as a quarterback that “plays his enemies like a game of chess.” Bengals running back Jeremy Hill, though, had the honor of his touchdown being called “As cool as the other side of the pillow,” arguably Scott’s most popular phrase.
Before the game, the players of both teams took a moment of silence to honor Scott.
