AMC is ready to hit the road (again) with Norman Reedus.
His unscripted series Ride With Norman Reedus has been renewed for a third season at the cabler.
Season three will bow in 2018. Along with the renewal, AMC announced Tuesday that the second season of Ride will launch Sunday, Nov. 5, at 11 p.m. ET/PT.
The show centers on the Walking Dead star and motorcycle enthusiast as he travels the open road, normally with a riding companion, to examine local biker culture and highlight the best collectors, mechanics and craftsmen across the U.S.
“There’s not much I love more than riding my bike on an open road with good friends,” Reedus said in a statement. “The fact that I get to do that as my job is a dream come true. I’m super stoked for people to watch the upcoming season and can’t wait to start shooting three soon.”
Reedus also executive produces the series with Ken Druckerman, Banks Tarver, and Anneka Jones. Left/Right (This American Life, The Circus) produces.
As The Walking Dead continues to rank as AMC’s, and TV’s, highest-rated series, Reedus remains an important collaborator at AMC. The drama returns for its eighth season in October (and will give Ride‘s second season launch a boost the following month).
Despite pulling back from unscripted in 2014, AMC still has several originals in the genre, including Kevin Smith’s Comic Book Men, Geeking Out and several installments of Chris Hardwick’s Talking aftershow series, including Talking Dead, Talking Saul and, most recently, the simply titled Talking.
In addition to his role as Daryl on the popular Robert Kirkman adaptation, Reedus‘ other roles include the recent films Sky and Triple 9.
