‘Rizzoli & Isles’: Ed Begley Jr. to Guest Star (Exclusive)

Ed Begley Jr.is getting his St. Elsewhere scrubs out of the closet for a guest-starring role on TNT’s Rizzoli & Isles.

Begley Jr., who earned six Emmy nominations for his portrayal of Dr. Victor Ehrlich on Elsewhere, will play Dr. Pike, an assistant medical examiner called in by Dr. Maura Isles (Sasha Alexander) from Western Massachusetts to cover a murder case. Pike, an egotistical, officious, anal-retentive guy, thinks he should have Maura’s job and quickly makes himself at home.

He will appear in the Sept. 5 episode, titled “Gone

Angie Harmon co-stars as Boston detective Jane Rizzoli in the drama based on the crime novels by author Tess Gerritsen.

Begley Jr., repped by Innovative Artists and Industry Entertainment, most recently guest starred on Chaos, Off the Map and $#*! My Dad Says.
