The future is unclear for Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna’s relationship both personally and professionally.
E! Entertainment confirmed Monday that production on the now-former couple’s spinoff series, Rob & Chyna, is “on hold” with no premiere date in sight for season two.
“While filming on Keeping Up With the Kardashians has been ongoing, spinoff Rob & Chyna has not been in production for several months and the series is not currently on the E! schedule,” a network spokesperson said in a statement. “As always, we follow the family’s lead regarding their lives and relationships, and viewers saw firsthand as the family discussed putting Rob & Chyna on hold in an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians this spring.”
The latest development is not surprising given the recent news surrounding the couple. Chnya was granted a temporary restraining order against her ex-fiancee on Monday, less than a week after Kardashian posted explicit images of her and attacked her online in posts on Instagram and Twitter. Her attorney Lisa Bloom has accused Kardashian of cyber-bullying, saying “revenge porn is domestic abuse,” on Twitter after the temporary restraining order was issued.
Chyna and Bloom also appeared on ABC’s Good Morning America to discuss Kardashian’s social media posts, which included nude postings of her. Chyna said she was “devastated” by Kardashian’s actions.
Although details of the temporary order are not yet known, Bloom said they prohibited Kardashian from coming near her and posting anything about her online. A hearing is scheduled for Aug. 8
The unlikely couple became engaged in April 2016 and announced they were expecting a child shortly thereafter. They welcomed a baby girl, Dream, in November but split up a month later. E! cameras also filmed their turbulent relationship for Rob & Chyna, which was renewed for a second season that same month.
The eight-episode second season was originally scheduled to launch this year.
The news about season two comes as E! prepares to unveil another Keeping Up With the Kardashians spinoff Life With Kylie, which is centered on youngest sister Kylie Jenner. Keeping Up With the Kardashians has spawned several other offshoots for the channel, more recently I Am Cait and Kourtney and Kim Take New York, among others.
Like the other series, Rob & Chyna hailed from Bunim/Murray Productions and executive producers Ryan Seacrest, Gil Goldschein, Jeff Jenkins, Farnaz Farjam, Ailee O’Neill, Kris Jenner, Chyna, Kardashian, Kim Kardashian and Walter Mosely.
