E! is adding another Keeping Up With the Kardashians spinoff to its lineup.
The network has ordered a series centered on Rob Kardashian and his fiancee Blac Chyna to series, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Tentatively titled Rob & Chyna, the project will offer a look inside the couple’s relationship in the wake of their recent engagement and pregnancy announcement. Six hourlong episodes have been ordered, in addition to a special celebrating the forthcoming new arrival. The show is slated to debut later this year.
“Very few love stories have created as much pop culture buzz as Rob and Chyna’s, and we are thrilled to see Rob in such a happy place,” E! exec vp original programming and development Jeff Olde said Wednesday in a statement. “We are excited to share the next chapter in their relationship.”
Like the many other Kardashian-centered series at E!, Rob & Chyna will be produced by Ryan Seacrest Productions and Bunim/Murray Productions. Ryan Seacrest, Gil Goldschein, Jeff Jenkins, Farnaz Farjam and Ailee O’Neill will serve as executive producers, along with Kris Jenner. Kardashian and Chyna are co-executive producers.
Keeping Up With the Kardashians has continued to pull in strong numbers for the NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment network in the midst of its 12th season. Throughout the years, the docuseries has expanded to spinoffs including Kourtney and Kim Take Miami, Kourtney and Kim Take New York, Khloe & Lamar, Kourtney and Khloe Take the Hamptons and most recently Dash Dolls, centered on the employees working at their Dash clothing boutiques. Khloe Kardashian also is set to host Revenge Body, a makeover show premiering later this year on E!
The move to spotlight youngest brother Rob is somewhat surprising, given his reduced appearance on the flagship series in recent years. Recently, speculation had centered on a possible spinoff toplined by youngest daughters Kendall and/or Kylie Jenner. Kardashian and Chyna started dating in January and became engaged in April. They announced a month later that they are expecting their first child together.
