Comedian Kathy Griffin was sure she wouldn’t be invited as a guest on OWN’s The Rosie Show after all the jokes she has made over the years about Oprah Winfrey. But, she was wrong. And not only is she appearing on Tuesday’s episode, but Part 2 of the interview will air on Wednesday.

That doesn’t mean she won’t have to pay the piper. Host Rosie O’Donnell took her task over why she has the need to make fun of the OWN boss. First things first, Griffin acknowledges she’s a fan of Winfrey’s and had watched every episode of her now shuttered talk show.
“She’s just beyond, as you said, the most famous and powerful woman on the planet… and well known… ever,” she tells O’Donnell before explaining why Winfrey makes for good fodder.

“I would say absolutely that I make fun of Oprah, because of her behavior. That is funny to me that she does the ‘John Travolta,’ ” Griffin says impersonating Winfrey’s trademark bellow. “And it is those things that no matter how wonderful she is – and, of course, I see her as a human being. Sometimes, she will say something that is so over the top to me that I find it amusing in the way that I make fun of Madonna.”
Watch Griffin explain herself in the sneak peek video below.
Griffin’s two part The Rosie Show interview airs Tuesday and Wednesday at 7 p.m. on OWN.
