American Idol host Ryan Seacrest will be honored at LA’s Promise 2011 Gala.
LA’s Promise, a nonprofit organization working to shift education, health and social outcomes, chose Seacrest for his continued commitment to helping youth programs throughout South Los Angeles.
“Ryan Seacrest is an extraordinary talent but he’s also an exceptionally good person. He gives his time and energy to youth programs and strives to make a difference in kids’ lives,” said Megan Chernin, LA’s Promise Board Chair. “We’re grateful for all his support and we’re looking forward to honoring Ryan and celebrating LA’s Promise breakthrough year of huge academic gains. The event helps provide vital funding to fulfill our promise to the 8,000 students in our care.”
In addition to his extremely busy career in the industry, the popular media personality is also committed to help the community and those in need, particularly youth-oriented programs and causes. Recently, Ryan Seacrest Productions teamed with LA’s Promise for a healthy eating campaign in conjunction with the second season of Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution.
“This year’s honoree is a pioneer is in his own right,” observed Mike McGalliard, LA’s Promise President and CEO. “Ryan represents the spirit of our organization in both his work and his philanthropic endeavors, transforming the lives of children and families who live within LA’s Promise Neighborhood.”
The Annenberg Foundation, Clear Channel Radio, Comcast and Twentieth Century Fox are among the confirmed sponsors of the gala event.
