Sarah Silverman is heading to HBO.
The comedian and actress will topline her first comedy special with the network, Sarah Silverman: We Are Miracles. Presented in association with frequent HBO collaborator Funny or Die, it will premiere in the fall.
“Sarah Silverman is a fresh, fearless and utterly original comedy voice,” said HBO programming president Michael Lombardo. “I’m thrilled that we can bring the humor of this unique talent to our viewers.”
We Are Miracles will tape in Los Angeles in May — and while it is a first for Silverman and HBO, it’s not her first comedy special. Sarah Silverman: Jesus Is Magic saw a small theatrical release in 2005.
Black Gold Films joins Funny or Die in producing We Are Miracles, with Heidi Herzon, Mike Farah, Anna Wenger, Betsy Koch, Amy Zvi and Silverman serving as executive producers. Jesus Is Magic helmer Liam Lynch will direct, edit and serve as consulting producer.
Silverman is repped by CAA.
