Sarah Silverman is welcoming an old friend and a former Lost co-star to her NBC comedy pilot.
The vehicle, in which she stars as a woman readjusting to single life following a decadelong live-in relationship, will re-team the actress with her The Sarah Silverman Program pal Tig Notaro. Notaro will play a gay, “tiny Tom Cruise” who is the mother to a 4-year-old Martha and is a tenant in Susan’s upscale Manhattan apartment building. She’s an eccentric woman who immediately “gets” Susan with the role written with Notaro in mind.
Notaro was a featured regular on the Comedy Central series, playing a lesbian police officer. Repped by Integral Entertainment and Ziffren Brittenham, her credits include The Life & Times of Tim and Community.
Meanwhile, Lost‘s Ken Leung will play Gene, a shut-in tenant in their building who spends most of his time on his couch, wrapped in a blanket and watching TV. The mysterious man in apartment 117 lets Susan in to his restroom and inadvertently solves a few mysteries for her before sparks fly and she winds up sharing his blanket.
Leung joined the ABC J.J. Abrams drama in Season 4, playing the sarcastic Miles. Repped by Hartig Hilepo, his credits include The Good Wife and X-Men: The Last Stand.
NBC picked up the comedy to pilot in November.
